Во имя Аллаха, Милостивого, Милосердного!
1. Он нахмурился и отвернулся,
2. потому что к нему подошел слепой.
3. Откуда тебе знать? Возможно, он бы очистился
4. или помянул бы наставление, и поминание принесло бы ему пользу.
5. Тому, кто решил, что он ни в чем не нуждается,
6. ты уделяешь внимание,
7. Что же будет тебе, если он не очистится?
8. А того, кто приходит к тебе со рвением
9. и страшится Аллаха,
10. ты оставляешь без внимания.
11. Но нет! Это есть Назидание,
12. и пусть помянет его всякий желающий.
13. Оно записано в свитках почитаемых,
14. вознесенных и очищенных,
15. в руках посланцев
16. благородных и покорных.
17. Да сгинет человек! Как же он неблагодарен!
18. Из чего Он сотворил его?
19. Он сотворил его из капли и соразмерил (или предопределил стадии его развития),
20. потом облегчил ему путь,
21. потом умертвил его и поместил в могилу.
22. Потом, когда пожелает, Он воскресит его.
23. Но нет! Он не выполняет того, что Он приказал ему.
24. Пусть посмотрит человек на свое пропитание!
25. Мы проливаем обильные ливни,
26. затем рассекаем землю трещинами
27. и взращиваем на ней зерна,
28. виноград и люцерну,
29. маслины и финиковые пальмы,
30. сады густые (или с могучими деревьями),
31. фрукты и травы
32. на пользу вам и вашей скотине.
33. Когда же раздастся Оглушительный глас,
34. в тот день человек бросит своего брата,
35. свою мать и своего отца,
36. свою жену и своих сыновей,
37. ибо у каждого человека своих забот будет сполна.
38. В тот день одни лица будут сиять,
39. смеяться и ликовать.
40. На других же лицах в тот день будет прах,
41. покрывающий их мраком.
42. Это будут неверующие грешники.

9. and fears Allah

11. But no! This is the edification
12. and let him who wishes him remember.
13. It is written in the scrolls of the revered,
14. ascended and purified,
15. in the hands of the messengers
16. noble and submissive.
17. Let the man perish! How ungrateful he is!
18. What did He create it from?
19. He created it from a drop and proportioned (or predetermined the stages of its development),
20. then he made his way easier
21. then he slew him and put him in a grave.
22. Then, when He pleases, He will raise him up.
23. But no! He does not fulfill what He commanded him.
24. Let the man look at his food!
25. We spill heavy showers
26. then dissect the ground with cracks
27. and grow grain on it
28. grapes and alfalfa,
29. olives and date palms,
30. thick gardens (or with mighty trees),
31. fruits and herbs
32. Benefit you and your cattle.
33. When the deafening voice is heard,
34. That day a man will leave his brother,
35. his mother and his father,
36. his wife and his sons,
37. for each person has his own concerns.
38. On that day alone faces will shine
39. laugh and exult.
40. But on the other faces that day there will be dust
41. covering them in darkness.
42. These will be unbelieving sinners.
