Преподобный Евфимий (XIV в.) был иеромонахом. Жил он чисто и безмолвно и подражал иноческим добродетелям преподобных. Часто с великим благоговением приносил он Бескровную Жертву и своими всегдашними молитвами достиг духовного общения и собеседования с Ангелами. А когда облекся в схиму, тогда, предавшись подвигу безмолвия, ни с кем ни о чем не беседовал. Одна молитва в церкви и в келлии была в его устах. Также никакой пищи, приготовляемой на огне, он не ел, а довольствовался одним зелием. Погребен в Дальних, Феодосиевых, пещерах Киево-Печерского монастыря. Память его также 28 августа/10 сентября и во 2-ю неделю Великого поста.
