Празднование в один день в честь Московских святителей Петра, Алексия и Ионы установлено патриархом Иовом 5 октября 1596 года. Святитель Филипп причислен к ним в 1875 году, по ходатайству святителя Иннокентия, митрополита Московского (память 31 марта и 23 сентября), а святитель Ермоген — в 1913 году.
Празднуя память всероссийских святителей в один день, Церковь воздает каждому из них равную честь как небесным покровителям города Москвы и молитвенникам за наше Отчество.
Память святителей также совершается: свт. Петра — 21 декабря/3 января, свт. Алексия — 12/25 февраля, свт. Ионы — 31 марта/13 апреля, свт. Филиппа — 9/22 января, свт. Ермогена — 17 февраля/1 марта.

One-day celebration in honor of the Moscow Saints Peter, Alexy, and Jonah was established by Patriarch Job on October 5, 1596. Saint Philip was reckoned among them in 1875, at the request of Saint Innocent, Metropolitan of Moscow (commemorated March 31 and September 23), and Saint Hermogenes in 1913.
Celebrating the memory of All-Russian saints on the same day, the Church gives each of them equal honor as the heavenly patrons of the city of Moscow and prayer books for our Patronymic.
The memory of the saints is also committed: St. Petra - December 21 / January 3, St. Alexia - February 12/25, St. Jonah - March 31 / April 13, St. Philippa - January 9/22, St. Hermogenes - February 17 / March 1.
