Митрополит Вениамин Федченков в предисловии к «Небу на земле» пишет: «Читатель благочестивый! Богатое и привлекательное духовное сокровище предлагается тебе! Чтобы заинтересоваться этим, нужно просмотреть хотя одно оглавление мыслей приснопамятного угодника Божия, отца Иоанна Кронштадтского (Сергиева) о спасительной Литургии, избранных из его творений. Он сам назвал ее «Небом на земле». А что может быть для христианина дороже, важнее, блаженнее неба?! В этом — сердце нашей жизни! Но именно ради этой важности предмета, а также вследствие великого обилия мыслей и глубокого содержания духовных переживаний Божия служителя, книгу эту подобает читать не только с обычным вниманием, но и с религиозным благоговением, с молитвой, перекрестясь. И должно прочитывать и перечитывать ее не один раз; тогда лишь можно усвоить все богатство его духовного опыта, тогда вполне откроется душеспасительная польза святых мыслей и чувств батюшки. При этом нужно знать, что в нашей литературе лучшего изъяснения духа и смысла Литургии нет вообще; а за границей — ничего нет подобного. Особенно же книга дорога должна быть для всякого пастыря: ему самому откроется великое сокровище; тогда он и другим может открыть его. За молитвы Праведника пастыря, о. Иоанна, да спасет и нас Господь на земле для Неба».
