70-е - начале 80-х Демис занялся сольной карьерой: были написаны все его главные хиты -Rain and tears, Goodbye my love, Souvenirs. Иногда бывало, "соловей" давал по 150 концертов в год.
Сейчас он в основном исполняет свои старые шлягеры, которые с удовольствием слушают в России.
Руссос похудел. Если в пике своей полноты, то есть до 1985 года, он весил 146 килограммов, то теперь его вес колеблется от 110 до 125.

Наконец, с середины 1990-х по российскому телевидению показывали телеигру «Форт Боярд», саундтрек к которой написал Поль Мориа. С середины 1970-х по лицензии были изданы четыре его виниловые пластинки, разошедшиеся по стране миллионными тиражами. После встречи с бардом Сергеем Никитиным (1978) Поль Мориа создал великолепную инструментальную версию его (совместно с Виктором Берковским) песни «Под музыку Вивальди».
