Памятник казакам, которые не вернулись с полей сражений, поставят в Ростове ко дню города 18 сентября. Об этом было объявлено во время последнего совещания по подготовке к Чемпионату мира по футболу в администрации области. Новая скульптура появится на Московской-Будённовском, на западном развороте. Ее автор – Анатолий Скнарин, чья «Тачанка» на въезде в Ростов стала визитной карточкой города. В центре новой композиции скульптор разместил лощадь, смотрящая вдаль. Рядом стоит девушка в казачьем наряде и забранными волосами, за её юбку держится маленький мальчик.
Двухметровый бронзовый монумент поставят напротив спуска в подземный переход. Сейчас на том месте поляна с цветочными клумбами. Гранитный постамент украсят гербом донских казаков: на нем изображен олень, пронзённый стрелой. Возможно, на пьедестале появится еще и торжественная надпись, рассказал РР скульптор Анатолий Скнарин.

На создание композиции из лошади, девушки и мальчика Анатолия Скнарина вдохновила старинная казачья традиция. В соответствии с ней, когда воин погибал на поле боя, семье героя возвращали его коня, шашку и шинель. А мальчик – младший брат или сын – как бы становился преемником погибшего. Впрочем, это не случалось далеко не всегда, - объяснил нам заведующий лабораторией истории казачества Южного научного центра Российской академии наук Андрей Венков.

Стоимость нового памятника не называют – отмечают лишь, что его поставят на деньги благотворителей.

The monument to the Cossacks, who did not return from the battlefields, will be delivered in Rostov on the City Day on September 18. This was announced during the last meeting on preparations for the World Cup in the regional administration. A new sculpture will appear on Moscow-Budennovsky, on a western turn. Its author is Anatoly Sknarin, whose “tachanka” at the entrance to Rostov became the hallmark of the city. In the center of the new composition, the sculptor placed a lover, looking into the distance. Nearby stands a girl in a Cossack outfit and taken her hair, a little boy holds behind her skirt.

Anatoly Sknarina inspired an old Cossack tradition to create a composition from a horse, a girl and a boy. In accordance with her, when the warrior died on the battlefield, the hero’s family returned his horse, saber and overcoat. And the boy - the younger brother or son -, as it were, became the successor of the deceased. However, this did not always happen, - the head of the laboratory of the history of the Cossacks of the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Venkov explained to us.
