Концерт для трубы с оркестром австрийского композитора и пианиста-виртуоза, чеха по национальности Иоганна Гуммеля, был написан в 1803 году, и по своему стилю он близок традициям Й. Гайдна, в наследии которого духовые инструменты постепенно перестают рассматриваться как чисто оркестровые и приобретают самостоятельность и в симфонических произведениях (им поручаются драматургически важные темы), и в концертах, где перед ними открываются условия для сольной демонстрации своих выразительных и технических возможностей. Выбор солирующего инструмента предопределил мужественную лирику и несколько военизированный оттенок концерта.

The Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra by the Austrian composer and virtuoso pianist, Czech by nationality Johann Gummel, was written in 1803, and in its style it is close to the traditions of J. Haydn, in whose legacy wind instruments are gradually no longer considered as purely orchestral and acquire independence and in symphonic works (they are entrusted with dramatically important topics), and in concerts, where conditions for a solo demonstration of their expressive and technical capabilities open up before them. The choice of the solo instrument predetermined the courageous lyrics and somewhat militarized tone of the concert.
