Неспешно звуки друг друга меняли
Как будто песня плелась лениво
Из жутко далёкой бескрайней дали
И голос тлел, затихал, как будто
Стремился вовсе с безмолвьем слиться
И смысл песни являлся смутно
Как тень ночной и пугливой птицы
И тот, кто пел, виден был неясно

But time passed, and the singing left

Human souls did not become purer
