The song is a translation (with abbreviations) of a well-known song to the poems of Robert Gerard Sands, better known as Bobby Sands. This poet was a member of the IRA and died in prison during a hunger strike for the rights of political prisoners. The song “Back Home in Derry” by Bobby Sands was already written in prison. It tells about the events of the beginning of the XIX century, when the Irish rebels were sent to penal servitude in Australia.
