In the depths of the Carpathian mountains, where, as if into an abyss, a cliff falls,
A distant bell rings, terrifying the inhabitants of the hollow.
There is no bell tower in those parts, and yet, opening the gates to another world,
In the fog, echoes are ringing, giving rise to nightmares.
It doesn't rain there - only lightning and thunder
What the monoliths shake among the rocky mountains
In places where ritual bonfires have been burning since then,
How the gods of yesteryear were killed on the altar.
Those forests rotted long ago, and, like a dead bog,
A frightened commoner miles away bypasses.
And henceforth, peace will never appear there,
As the ghosts-bells shake the misty valley.
