Bourbon is a type of whiskey produced in the USA. Bourbon appeared in the late 18th - early 19th centuries in the city of Paris (Bourbon County, Kentucky, USA). More precisely, the first surviving advertisement for a new drink with this name dates back to 1821. The recipe itself was known earlier: at least since 1789, the Reverend Elijah Craig distilled a similar drink for the needs of his parishioners.
