Он седой залив Кронштадта называл землей родной.
Он на берег и для милой не спускался ни на шаг –

Но однажды в день туманный уходили моряки
в край, где нет ни океана, ни пролива, ни реки.
Вместе с ними в тучах пыли шёл и он сквозь дым и мрак –

Шёл тайгой непроходимой, шёл дорогою степной.
Проплывали тучи дыма перед ним крутой волной.
Над землею, словно крылья, подымал он красный флаг –
