Roger the Engineer (original British name: Yardbirds) is an album by the British blues-rock band The Yardbirds, released in 1966. Officially, the album was called Yardbirds, but over time, first unofficially, and then semiofficially received the name Roger the Engineer, because of the inscription on the cover.
Roger the Engineer is the only disc of the group in which all the songs were released for the first time. The album feels the influence of Jeff Beck's experiments with guitar distortion, which is why the album is sometimes considered heavy metal, and Jeff Beck took 1st place as lead guitarist in 1966 in the British music magazine Beat Instrumental.
In 2003, the album took 349th place on the list of the greatest albums of all time from Rolling Stone magazine.
