Самая знаменитая работа Олвина Люсьера была впервые исполнена в 1969 году в Brandeis University. Суть этого эксперимента проста и, по-сути, отражена в самой речи музыканта. - I am sitting in a room different from the one you are in now. I am recording the sound of my speaking voice and I am going to play it back into the room again and again until the resonant frequencies of the room reinforce themselves so that any semblance of my speech, with perhaps the exception of rhythm, is destroyed. What you will hear, then, are the natural resonant frequencies of the room articulated by speech. I regard this activity not so much as a demonstration of a physical fact, but more as a way to smooth out any irregularities my speech might have.

Alvin Lucier's most famous work was first performed in 1969 at Brandeis University. The essence of this experiment is simple and, in fact, reflected in the speech of the musician. There are two recording devices. On one of them, Alvin writes down his speech, then immediately loses it, while the second recorder re-records, but already the voice recorded on the first device and reflected from the walls of the room. Then the process of re-recording is repeated again and again, each time more and more distorting the voice under the influence of resonance characteristics of the room, thanks to which already in the 16th minute something turns out that is not very similar to human speech.
According to music experts, this work is a clear demonstration of the ambient transformation of speech modules into drone frequencies.
By the way, such an experiment can be conducted by anyone, having convinced by own experience how the room replaces the voice with its own resonant harmony.
