Пророк (мир ему и благословение) обходился с детьми очень ласково. Анас ибн Малик (да будет доволен им Аллах) сказал: «Какой у вас хороший скакун!» Пророк (мир ему и благословение) ответил: «О Анас, всадники хорошие и скакун хороший». Пророк (мир ему и благословение) оказывал даже детям почёт и уважение.

Он оставался в этом положении так долго, что сподвижники его уже подумали, будто Пророк (мир ему и благословение) покинул этот мир, будто с ним что-то случилось. А когда он поднялся, завершив намаз, сказал: «На меня забралась моя внучка, и я не хотел её беспокоить».
Пророк (мир ему и благословение) навещал ансаров (жителей пресветлой Медины) и приветствовал их детей, гладя их головы и делая им дуа.
Пророк (мир ему и благословение) воспитывал людей и учил их всему этому, потому что именно в детском возрасте закрепляются нравственные основы личности.
Когда Хусейн взял один финик из закята, который не являлся халялем для него (то есть для Пророка (мир ему и благословение) и его родственников из бану хашимов и муталлибов закят не является дозволенным), Пророк (мир ему и благословение) вытащил этот финик изо рта Хусейна. «Ках! Ках!» – закашлял Хусейн. Пророк (мир ему и благословение) сказал ему: «Это не является халялем для нас, для семьи Мухаммада, ведь оно из закята».

He remained in this position for so long that his companions thought that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had left this world, as if something had happened to him. And when he got up, completing the prayer, he said: "My granddaughter climbed up on me, and I did not want to disturb her."
