И сказал Господь Моисею, говоря:
отмсти Мадианитянам за сынов Израилевых, и после отойдешь к народу твоему.
И сказал Моисей народу, говоря: вооружите из себя людей на войну, чтобы они пошли против Мадианитян, совершить мщение Господне над Мадианитянами;
по тысяче из колена, от всех колен Израилевых пошлите на войну.
И выделено из тысяч Израилевых, по тысяче из колена, двенадцать тысяч вооруженных на войну.
И послал их Моисей на войну, по тысяче из колена, их и Финееса, сына Елеазара, священника, на войну, и в руке его священные сосуды и трубы для тревоги.
И пошли войною на Мадиама, как повелел Господь Моисею, и убили всех мужеского пола;
и вместе с убитыми их убили царей Мадиамских: Евия, Рекема, Цура, Хура и Реву, пять царей Мадиамских, и Валаама, сына Веорова, убили мечом;
а жен Мадиамских и детей их сыны Израилевы взяли в плен, и весь скот их, и все стада их и все имение их взяли в добычу,
и все города их во владениях их и все селения их сожгли огнем;
и взяли все захваченное и всю добычу, от человека до скота;
и доставили пленных и добычу и захваченное к Моисею и к Елеазару священнику и к обществу сынов Израилевых, к стану, на равнины Моавитские, что у Иордана, против Иерихона.
И вышли Моисей и Елеазар священник и все князья общества навстречу им из стана.
И прогневался Моисей на военачальников, тысяченачальников и стоначальников, пришедших с войны,
и сказал им Моисей: для чего вы оставили в живых всех женщин?
вот они, по совету Валаамову, были для сынов Израилевых поводом к отступлению от Господа в угождение Фегору, за что и поражение было в обществе Господнем;
итак убейте всех детей мужеского пола, и всех женщин, познавших мужа на мужеском ложе, убейте;
а всех детей женского пола, которые не познали мужеского ложа, оставьте в живых для себя;
и пробудьте вне стана семь дней; всякий, убивший человека и прикоснувшийся к убитому, очиститесь в третий день и в седьмой день, вы и пленные ваши;
и все одежды, и все кожаные вещи, и все сделанное из козьей шерсти, и все деревянные сосуды очистите.
И сказал Елеазар священник воинам, ходившим на войну: вот постановление закона, который заповедал Господь Моисею:
золото, серебро, медь, железо, олово и свинец,
и все, что проходит через огонь, проведите через огонь, чтоб оно очистилось, а кроме того и очистительною водою должно очистить; все же, что не проходит через огонь, проведите через воду;
и одежды ваши вымойте в седьмой день, и очиститесь, и после того входите в стан.
И сказал Господь Моисею, говоря:
сочти добычу плена, от человека до скота, ты и Елеазар священник и начальники племен общества;
и раздели добычу пополам между воевавшими, ходившими на войну, и между всем обществом;
и от воинов, ходивших на войну, возьми дань Господу, по одной душе из пятисот, из людей и из крупного скота, и из ослов и из мелкого скота;
возьми это из половины их и отдай Елеазару священнику в возношение Господу;
и из половины сынов Израилевых возьми по одной доле из пятидесяти, из людей, из крупного скота, из ослов и из мелкого скота, и отдай это левитам, служащим при скинии Господней.
И сделал Моисей и Елеазар священник, как повелел Господь Моисею.
И было добычи, оставшейся от захваченного, что захватили бывшие на войне: мелкого скота шестьсот семьдесят пять тысяч,
крупного скота семьдесят две тысячи,
ослов шестьдесят одна тысяча,
людей, женщин, которые не знали мужеского ложа, всех душ тридцать две тысячи.
Половина, доля ходивших на войну, по расчислению была: мелкого скота триста тридцать семь тысяч пятьсот,
и дань Господу из мелкого скота шестьсот семьдесят пять;
крупного скота тридцать шесть тысяч, и дань из них Господу семьдесят два;
ослов тридцать тысяч пятьсот, и дань из них Господу шестьдесят один;
людей шестнадцать тысяч, и дань из них Господу тридцать две души.
И отдал Моисей дань, возношение Господу, Елеазару священнику, как повелел Господь Моисею.
И из половины сынов Израилевых, которую отделил Моисей у бывших на войне;
половина же на долю общества была: мелког

And the Lord said unto Moses, saying:
avenge the Midianites for the sons of Israel, and afterward you will depart to your people.
And Moses said to the people, saying: Arm yourself from the people to war, so that they go against the Midianites, to make the vengeance of the Lord over the Midianites;
one thousand from the tribe, from all the tribes of Israel send to war.
And allocated from the thousands of Israel, one thousand from the tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand from the tribe, them and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the priest, to the war, and in his hand were sacred vessels and pipes for alarm.
And they went to war against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses, and killed all the males;
and together with the slain they killed the kings of Midian: Evia, Rekem, Tsur, Khur and Reva, five kings of Midian, and Balaam son of Veorov, they killed with the sword;
and the sons of Israel captured the women of Midian and their children, and took all their cattle, and all their herds, and all their property,
and all their cities in their possessions and all their villages were burned with fire;
and they took all the captured and all the prey, from man to cattle;
and they delivered the captives and booty and the priest captured by Moses and Eleazar and to the company of the sons of Israel, to the camp, on the plains of Moab, which is near Jordan, against Jericho.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the princes of society went out to meet them from the camp.
And Moses was angry with the commanders, the captains of thousands and stewards who came from the war,
and Moses said to them: Why did you leave all women alive?
here they, on the advice of Balaam, were an occasion for the sons of Israel to retreat from the Lord to please Pehor, for which defeat was in the company of the Lord;
so kill all the male children, and kill all the women who know the husband on the male bed;
and leave all female children who have not known the masculine bed alive for themselves;
and awake out of the camp seven days; everyone who kills a man and touches the slain, cleanse yourself on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your prisoners;
and all clothes, and all leather things, and everything made of goat hair, and all wooden vessels, clean.
And Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who went to war: this is the decree of the law which the Lord commanded Moses:
gold, silver, copper, iron, tin and lead,
and all that passes through the fire, pass through the fire so that it will be cleansed, and besides, it should be cleansed with cleansing water; nevertheless, that which does not pass through fire, pass through water;
and wash your clothes on the seventh day, and cleanse yourself, and after that enter the camp.
And the Lord said unto Moses, saying:
consider the extraction of captivity, from man to cattle, you and Eleazar the priest and the chiefs of the tribes of society;
and divided the booty in half between the warriors who went to war, and between the whole of society;
and from the soldiers who went to war, pay tribute to the Lord, one soul out of five hundred, from people and from cattle, and from donkeys and cattle;
take it from half of them and give it to Eleazar the priest in an offering to the Lord;
and out of the half of the sons of Israel, take one share of fifty, from people, from cattle, from donkeys and from cattle, and give it to the Levites serving at the tabernacle of the Lord.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And there was booty left over from the seized that had been captured by those who were at war: six hundred and seventy-five thousand cattle,
cattle seventy-two thousand
donkeys sixty one thousand,
people, women who did not know the masculine bed, all souls thirty-two thousand.
Half, the proportion who went to war, according to the calculation was: small livestock three hundred thirty seven thousand five hundred,
and a tribute to the Lord of the small livestock six hundred seventy-five;
cattle thirty-six thousand, and a tribute of them to the Lord seventy-two;
donkeys thirty thousand five hundred, and a tribute of them to the Lord sixty-one;
sixteen thousand people, and a tribute of them to the Lord thirty-two souls.
And Moses paid tribute, an offering to the Lord, Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses.
And from the half of the sons of Israel, which Moses separated from those who were in the war;
