Ибо фарисеи и все Иудеи, держась предания старцев, не едят, не умыв тщательно рук;
Ибо услышала о Нем женщина, у которой дочь одержима была нечистым духом, и, придя, припала к ногам Его;
Иисус, отведя его в сторону от народа, вложил персты Свои в уши ему и, плюнув, коснулся языка его;
The Pharisees and some of the scribes from Jerusalem came to him,
and when they saw some of his disciples, who ate the bread with unclean, that is, unwashed, hands, they reproached.
For the Pharisees and all the Jews, holding the traditions of the elders, do not eat, do not wash their hands thoroughly;
and, having come from the bargaining, do not eat without washing. There is much more that they have taken to hold: to observe the washing of bowls, mugs, cauldrons and benches.
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him: Why do your disciples not act according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
He said to them, "He well prophesied about you, hypocrites, Isaiah, as it is written, these people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me,
but in vain they honor Me, teaching the teachings, the commandments of men.
For you, having left the commandment of God, keep to the tradition of the human, to wash the mugs and cups, and you do many other things like this.
And he said to them: Is it good that you cancel the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition?
For Moses said: Honor your father and your mother; and: whoever curses the father or mother, may death die.
And you say: who will tell his father or mother: Korvan, that is, a gift to God for what you would use from me,
you already allow him to do nothing for his father or his mother,
eliminating the word of God by your tradition, which you have established; and do many things like that.
And he called all the people, and said unto them, Hear ye all, and understand:
nothing entering man from the outside can defile him; but that which proceeds from it defiles a man.
If anyone has ears, let him hear!
And when he entered the house from the people, his disciples asked him about the parable.
And he said unto them, Are you also so unintelligent? Do you not understand that nothing outside of a person can defile it?
Because it is not into his heart that enters, but into the womb, and goes out, which purifies all food.
Then he said: outgoing from a person defiles a person.
For from within, from the heart of man, evil thoughts, adultery, fornication, murder, proceed,
theft, covetousness, anger, deceit, indecency, envious eye, blasphemy, pride, madness -
all this evil comes from within and defiles a man.
And going from there, he came to the borders of Tire and Sidon; and, entering the house, did not want anyone to find out; but could not hide.
For the woman who had a daughter who was possessed with an unclean spirit heard about Him, and, coming, fell at His feet;
and the woman was a heathen, a Syrophynic woman; and asked him to cast a demon out of her daughter.
But Jesus said unto her, Give first the children to be filled, for it is not good to take the bread from the children and throw it to the dogs.
But she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord; but the dogs under the table eat the crumbs of the children.
And he said to her: For this word, go; The demon came out of your daughter.
And, having come to her home, she found that the demon had gone out and the daughter was lying on the bed.
Coming out of the borders of Tire and Sidon, Jesus again went to the Sea of Galilee through the borders of the Decapolis.
They brought a deaf tongue-tied person to Him and asked Him to lay a hand on him.
Jesus, taking him aside from the people, put his fingers into his ears and, spitting, touched his tongue;
And looking up at the sky, he sighed and said to him: Effafa, that is, open up.
And immediately he opened his ear and the bonds of his tongue were resolved, and began to speak cleanly.
And he commanded them not to tell anyone. But however much He forbade them, they divulged them even more.
And they marveled extremely, and said: He does all things well, and makes them deaf, and dumb speak.
